Homeschool Farm Lab

Homeschool Farm Lab is a hands-on science class where kids learn by observing, testing, building, measuring, and getting a little dirt on their boots.

Instead of only reading about science, students experience it through the homestead, animals, garden, workshop, tools, and simple machines at The Painted Buffalo Homestead + MakersSpace.

Each one-hour lab focuses on a different topic and combines a short lesson with a real-world activity. Kids might test soil, study animal digestion, measure garden growth, investigate pulleys and levers, explore simple electrical circuits, compare animal adaptations, or learn how machines make work easier.

The goal is to make science feel useful, memorable, and connected to everyday life.

Best for: homeschool families, co-ops, small learning groups, and curious kids

Suggested ages: 7–14, with activities adjusted by age
